The Yamaha LLX16 is one of Yamaha’s top-of-the-range LLX Series of electro-acoustic guitars, which feature premium solid Engelmann Spruce tops and the ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) on-board electronics.
The LLX16 benefits from a solid Rosewood back and sides and a three-ply Mahogany/Paduak neck which adds strength and produces a more balanced tone. LLX series instruments have been upgraded with the System 60 ART preamp, which is also used on the Japanese made L-Series models. System 60 couples the three-way ART sensor system to an on-board preamp which offers three independent pick-up volumes – Bass, Full-range and Treble – in addition to a Master Volume.
The system uses custom-designed, calibrated push-push pots and is designed with stage-friendly ergonomics in mind so the controls can be hidden away when not in use. The LLX16 also features an Ebony fingerboard and bridge, neck, headstock and body binding and die-cast Gold machine heads. The model is available in Natural, Black, Brown Sunburst and Tobacco Sunburst and includes a Yamaha Form case.
